What our Honeymooners love about Mauna Kea Beach Hotel:
The Mauna Kea, lovely, we loved the fact that this hotel was so secluded, on its own stellar white sandy beach, perfect crescent shaped beach ( could not stop taking pictures of the beach) We loved that you could snorkel right off the beach in very clear water, that was calm and beautiful and see so many fish and cool fun things under the water.
we loved every minute of our honeymoon trip to Hawaii, and are so glad we chose the Big Island of Hawaii over Maui or Kauai, the big island was so much less touristy. ( had been to the other islands before) the Big Island is BIG!! we didn’t get to see a lot of the island but need to go back again to see it all. We drove around quite a bit, loved the landscape, and the volcano was incredible.
The scenic beauty, not crowded island, and mostly the lovely Mauna Kea Hotel, the staff were great, the rooms were beautiful, luxurious, great food, amazing atmosphere, and ambiance, we spent most of our time on their beach which seemed to be the best on the island. We visited the Four Seasons ( beach not swimmable and narrow) and the Mauna Lani ( again not much beach) but we had a great dinner at Mauna Lani at the Canoe House restaurant, and a great breakfast ( but expensive) at the Four Seasons.
Thank you Unforgettable Honeymoons for making our dreams come true! (and for talking us into not spending $900 a night at Four Seasons, and choosing Mauna Kea which was fantastic)
Big Island of Hawaii Honeymoon Review , Mauna Kea Resort
We loved everything about the Mauna Kea from their perfect beach with gorgeous clear water and amazing sunsets in the evening, to the small feel of a luxury hotel that caters to your every need. My husband particularly liked the beach bar where it is easy to make friends and I loved watching the manta rays at night feeding on plankton right at the shoreline. The food was delicious in all of the restaurants and there are some great short trails to explore right off of the property. Mauna Kea offers the kind of Hawaiian atmosphere that lures you in and makes you never want to leave!
