Our experience was phenomenal! We had a great time experiencing both the mountains with Ladera and the beach with the Sandals Resort. Both were fabulous!

We enjoyed that Ladera was seclusive, and it really gave us time to relax and take in our surroundings after the busyness surrounding the wedding. The mountains were astonishing, and it was fantastic to wake up to a view like that. Sandals was wonderful, because we were around other honeymooners who became friends. It was also nice to have the all-inclusive experience!

St. Lucia was beautiful. On our first night at Ladera, a singer at dinner sang that it was considered the Helen of the West Indies, and we couldn’t agree more. It was breathtaking everywhere you looked, and this honeymoon package gave us the best of both worlds between the mountain and the beach.

The highlight of the honeymoon was by far the Joe Knows tour at Sandals. It allowed us to see a majority of the island, and coming from Ladera, we were already familiar with some of the tour, so it was nice to have a history and background to places we had been.

Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients?
It would be nice to have a brief warning about the differences in driving between St. Lucia and the United States (no stop signs, lots of honking, hairpin turns on the sides of mountains, driving on the opposite side of the road from the US), just as a quick preface to what is experienced going to and from the resorts. Otherwise, we were well prepared!

Ladera and Calabash Cove St Lucia Review
We just got back from our Honeymoon In St. Lucia ( was long overdue..!), which was arranged by Unforgettable Honeymoons – They put together a Customized Itinerary for us that was just Perfect, we were really Impressed by how Smooth and Seamless all of our Arrangements turned out. We were treated like VIP’s at Ladera, especially when we upgraded to the next level–The Suite was huge, and had more room than we’d ever Imagined–had our very own Villa, which was Overlooking The Ocean and Pitons!!

After 3 wonderful nights, we then went to the Calabash Cove Resort on the Beach for 5 Nights, with our very own Cottage and Pool, which was also overlooking the Ocean – This too was well over the top. Every moment spent there made us really think and appreciate the fact that we waited to go on our Honeymoon right after the wedding…Time and patience made everything more than worth while

Thanks to our Travel Agent, Renee, we’d also received a complimentary bottle of Chilled Champagne, as well as the best Cottage location at the Hotel. Their Honeymoon Registry had really helped us pay It all off quicker, so It was a huge relief not having to pay It all upfront and full. Everything Worked out way better than we’d ever anticipated, they easily took care of It all. Also, being able to talk to someone who had actually been to the locations we had decided on going, made our Honeymoon an even greater experience (as It should be for any couple..)–also, knowing that We could Call them while on our Honeymoon If we needed, really put our minds at ease as well!!

For Us, It was a dream Honeymoon that We could never forget..

Ladera St Lucia Honeymoon Review

Ladera has incredible views and is open-air, extremely romantic!! Ladera’s restaurant Dasheene was the highlight(Lauren typically doesn’t order seafood, but LOVED everything she ordered). It is a safe bet to order anything with plantains..they are delicious.

The chef will come out and visit with guests, discuss what they liked/didn’t like, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is incredibly romantic. We loved the way the Ladera Resort is open-air, no 4th wall, and unbelievable views of the Pitons that can not be replicated.

Pictures don’t even do it justice. Ladera only has around 30 rooms, so it never feels crowded, and guests are all friendly. For the most part, everyone was honeymooning. We almost always had the pool to ourselves, and we LOVED Sugar Beach, which Ladera provides a free shuttle to.

How did the honeymoon turn out in general? Amazing! We had great weather(mid 80’s to mid 90’s at the highest) and unbelievable food. We did a split stay between the Ladera Resort and Calabash Cove and it was absolutely perfect.

The Piton mountains! I strongly recommend hiking the Gros Piton(although I hear it was strenuous, I think it would be worth it) if you aren’t staying anywhere with a view. They are iconic of the island and we missed the view from Ladera after we left. Snorkeling was also great, and Sugar Beach was one of our favorites. We went deep-sea fishing, and I’d recommend doing one of the excursions where “you hook it, they cook it” at the resort. We didn’t catch anything but saw a few dolphins & whales. The best excursions are the private ones that go out extremely early in the morning- more likely to catch something!

The highlight of the honeymoon? Ladera! You must visit..even if only for a few nights. The setting is breathtaking- another guest staying there with us said she felt like she had found the Garden of Eden.
Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients? I definitely enjoyed splitting time between Ladera and another boutique resort. It was nice to get some air-conditioning and an all-inclusive plan

Was our service what you expected? Yes, everything was great with Unforgettable Honeymoons!! 

How did the honeymoon turn out in general?

Our honeymoon was everything I hoped it would be. It was great to combine a bit of adventure and hiking in the mountains near Soufriere at Ladera and then relax with some time at the beach at Sandals. It was easy to arrange all of our additional tours and convenient to have everything planned and ready for us when we arrived!

What did you like best about the resorts you stayed at?

At Ladera we enjoyed the personal service and the ease of going on additional tours and activities. It was really hard to beat the location overlooking the Pitons with the open 4th wall. We also liked that there was a bit more of a local flair at Ladera with the Dasheene restaurant and the local guides available on the tours. At Sandals it was nice to be right on the beach and have meals, drinks, and activities already paid for. There was a great variety of things to do at both resorts.

What about the destination(s) in general?

St Lucia was just stunningly beautiful. It had pretty much everything you might want – great hiking and nature with the rainforest, volcano, and Pitons, beautiful beaches, good snorkeling locations, fantastic resorts and friendly people!

Highlight of the honeymoon ? Climbing Gros Piton and then relaxing at the beach for the next few days.

Was our service what you expected? Yes! It was fantastic. Any questions I had were answered and everything was taken care of with no effort on my part, which was perfect after the stress of wedding planning.

Ladera St Lucia Honeymoon review:

Ladera is an amazing getaway like nothing else we have seen. Each morning waking up to incredible views of the Pitons is breathtaking. Everyone there went out of their way to accommodate us and made us feel right at home. It is a destination we look forward to traveling back to someday.

How did the honeymoon turn out in general? Unforgettable! We knew what to expect when it came to the road conditions, so that was not a surprise to us. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, the excursions we took were exciting and like nothing, we have ever done before. We have said numerous times since our trip that we are so happy we decided to travel to St. Lucia.

St. Lucia is a quaint, romantic, friendly island. There is so much to do and learn while there. We loved our time at Ladera there is nothing quite like it.

The highlight of the honeymoon? The highlight for us was our time spent at Ladera. It was just amazing!

Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients? Nothing comes to mind, everything given to us by Unforgettable Honeymoons was very thorough and prepared us for our trip. It was comforting knowing that they were only a phone call away if needed.

I would highly recommend St. Lucia to anyone looking for an island destination. I would also highly recommend a stay at Ladera even if it is just for a few nights it’s a stay you will never forget.

When my wife and I arrived at Ladera Resort we were speechless. The views and secluded location really take your breath away but the resort service shined the most. The staff are very friendly and respond to every request immediately. They really know how to cater to your every need!

How did the honeymoon turn out in general? The entire honeymoon process was flawless. The planning was made very easy with the help of Unforgettable Honeymoons and their honeymoon registry service. There were no flight delays or any issues with transportation. The views, the food, the service, and the experience was all top notch!

And about the destination(s) in general? St Lucia is a beautiful tropical island with incredible views and extremely friendly and welcoming people. The native food and spices are delicious and a pleasant change from processed American foods!

The least? The only possible negative about St Lucia are the very curvy roads. My wife and I have no problem with car sickness so it wasn’t a problem for us, but we were told that some tourists have an issue with it. As long as it’s not a problem, just sit back and enjoy the amazing views even from the back seat of a cab!

The highlight of the honeymoon? The highlight of the honeymoon was waking up on our first morning to a gorgeous St Lucia sunrise with an incredible view from our 3-walled Ladera suite. Walking to the edge of our room to stare out at the two Piton peaks, endless ocean and the thick tropical landscape…just priceless.

Ladera St Lucia Honeymoon Review

It was absolutely amazing! Couldn’t imagine a better place for a honeymoon!
The St. Lucian people are truly warm and accommodating, and everyone is quick to ask how you are and how they can make your stay any better.

The least? There is only 1 main road in St. Lucia , so it does take a while to get anywhere by car.

The highlight of the honeymoon? Climbing Gros Piton, the view from the room, Dasheene restaurant, Sulphur Springs and volcano.

Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients? Ladera is within walking distance to the Sulphur Springs and volcano, so no need to pay money for tours to those attractions.

Any other comments? Mineral baths at Ladera, Kari bathing in the Sulphur Springs, a Piton and a Piton, Jalousie beach, a view of Petit Piton from atop Gros Piton.

Was our service what you expected?  Unforgettable Honeymoons service was outstanding we couldn’t have asked for more.
