Puerto Vallarta Experiences

El Malecon (Seaside Boardwalk)

With a paved walkway all along the shore of downtown Puerto Vallarta, it’s a very popular destination for guests and residents alike. You can enjoy the shopping, restaurants and the local Mexican culture. The Malecon was completely remodeled in 2011 and is now exclusively designed for pedestrians. It’s a safe, fun and fascinating excursion in downtown Vallarta, where you can experience the many attractions and sculptures, too.

Isla Cuale Flea Market

Comprising a complete city block along the north side of the banks of the Cuale River is the Mercado Municipal (Cuale River Flea Market). It’s an indoor market with two storeys that feature vendors, suppliers and everything from pottery, jewelry, embroidered clothing, souvenirs and much more. If you like to bargain, this is a good place to get great deals, especially if you’re looking for crafts at affordable prices.

Conchas Chinas Beach

Playa Conchas Chinas (Chinese Shells Beach), located in Fraccionamiento Las Amapas, is one of the city’s most secluded beaches. Conchas Chinas Beach is one of the most beautiful locations in Puerto Vallarta. Just minutes from the city, this beach lies between forest and mountains, a superb place colored by the blue-green waters and beige sand. Enjoy the natural pools formed by groups of rocks, taste a delicious fried fish, rent boats and water ski. The clarity of the water allows you to see the ocean floor and witness the different multicolored fish that live there.

Amapas Beach

This beach is semi-hidden just south of El Púlpito. When you arrive at the end of Los Muertos Beach, there is a path that climbs to the top of El Pulpito and also continues down to the other side. Las Amapas is not filled with vacationers and provides a more intimate space.

Old Vallarta

Brimming with shops, restaurants, traditional Mexican architecture, and iconic cobblestone streets, the village-like area known as Old Vallarta and more commonly, the Romantic Zone, is the perfect place to experience authentic Puerto Vallarta. Featuring a popular beach and pier, Playa Los Muertos, visitors can take water taxis to coastal regions in Jalisco or cruises on the bay. Explore the romantic sidewalk cafes, architecture, farmer’s markets, flea markets, and more; Old Vallarta is an easy 30-minute drive from the resort.

Yelapa

A hidden gem of a small beach town, this quaint bay village is a unique place to soak in the sun, swim in majestic waterfalls, and ride horses and burros through the scenic jungle. Hop on a water taxi from the Los Muertos Pier to arrive at Yelapa.
