St. Lucia

We spent our honeymoon in St. Lucia. Unforgettable Honeymoons arranged a split stay at the Ladera Resort and Calabash Cove. I am so glad we started off at Ladera resort in the tropical rainforest high up on a ridge overlooking the Pitons. Never mind there were only three walls. The view from your room at this resort is a must experience in your lifetime! We kept staring at awe at the view and at times I almost felt like it was just imagined. Hearing the rain in the night and the many variations of the view with all kinds of weather made this a constantly changing experience. Hospitality and food at the resort was 10/10. We truly enjoyed our stay and this place is an absolute honeymoon must. We spent the second half of our trip down on the beach at Calabash Cove. A different but also amazing experience.  Being right on the beach in a cottage made you feel truly special. With only a small number of guests you are guaranteed solitude at the beach, lots of pool corners to yourself and great service from the staff. Our favorite part of the stay is how everyone comes from their cottages and pool down to the beach each night to enjoy the last minutes of sunset. The combination of these two resort stays made our honeymoon extremely unique and truly memorable. St Lucia Honeymoon to Ladera and Calabash Cove Review

How did the honeymoon (turn out in general?   Absolutely amazing!!  We loved the combo of both resorts- they were each very different and offered their own spectacular environment and vibe.  We also thought it was a great recommendation to first stay at Ladera which is just pure magic and an unbeatable mind blowing view in the mountains, and then head to Calabash which is just 5 star all the way with a beautiful tropical beach.  We absolutely loved every second!!

What did you like best about the resorts you stayed at?

Ladera – the views are mind blowingly BEAUTIFUL! We could not get over how incredible it was.  The room was also STUNNING!! We loved the open air and the amazing plunge pool.  There were hummingbirds and lizards which added to the beauty.  The temperature the entire time was perfect. Also, the grounds at Ladera were really stunning- the hiking trails and the restaurant were also just amazing.

Calabash Cove – an amazing 5 star resort all the way!  We absolutely LOVED the private beach beach bungalow and plunge pool!! Beautiful view, right by the beach with the gorgeous Caribbean water.   We loved the all-inclusive- we could go to a fancy dinner at the resort or have it on the deck of our amazing bungalow- loved every second.  It was incredibly beautiful and relaxing and we loved swimming in the ocean- we even went snorkeling with a boat that picked us up right from the resort beach. All the staff were just incredible. Food and drinks were delicious as well. Overall beautiful resort and absolutely incredible beach bungalow!

What about the destination(s) in general?

We had no idea how amazing the entire landscape is in St. Luica!  The mountains, waterfalls, volcanos, etc.- it is a tropical paradise with just incredible views everywhere you look. Loved it

Highlight of the honeymoon? ( please tell us about any excursions/day trips?)

It is extremely difficult to pick just one… Ladera was pure magic with the views and the incredible room! But Calabash has that amazing 5 star all inclusive service in an amazing beach bungalow!

We went on a piton hiking trail at Ladera that was very cool and we got to see different stunning views on the pitions.  We also did a Botanical Garden tour which was beautiful and we got to see the Diamond Falls which we highly recommend! We went to the sulfur springs and saw the drive-in volcano with an awesome private tour guide who we loved- also, highly recommend these tours- amazing!  Ladera made booking the tour a total breeze also which was really nice.  At Calabash we went snorkeling at Pigeon island which was incredible with the colorful fish, coral, and incredible sea life. We were SO HAPPY we did each and every one of these and highly recommend!!

Ultimate St Lucia Honeymoon Package Review

How did the honeymoon (and wedding)  turn out in general?   Our honeymoon was everything we could have ever dreamed of. Before COVID, we were planning an Italy honeymoon. While Italy would have also been amazing, we couldn’t be happier we ended up traveling to St. Lucia, particularly staying at Calabash Cove in a cottage. If you want a relaxing, romantic, carefree honeymoon, this is the place to go. Our hardest decision of the day was pool or beach first. It was truly a dream.

What did you like best about the resorts you stayed at Ladera and Calabash Cove in St Lucia?

We loved the intimate experience the resort offered. With only 25 rooms available, it never felt crowded. We truly felt like we had the place to ourselves and never worried about getting a beach or pool chair, or a preferred table at dinner. It was the most romantic, serene resort we both had ever been to with the best views in the world.

What about honeymooning in St Lucia? 

The destination was a beautiful Caribbean island.  The employees were all SUPER friendly and accommodating. They truly go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. The island has beautiful greenery and wildlife. We saw at least 50 dolphins when we went on our excursion. It was beautiful.

Highlight of your St Lucia honeymoon? (please tell us about any excursions/day trips?) 

Our highlight of the trip was our excursion. We left early in the morning and got back in the evening so it was a full day excursion. I believe it was called “toots begay” meaning “everything.” We started the day off with a catamaran ride around the island where we saw all the popular resorts, beautiful island landscapes, and 50+ dolphins. We first went to the mud bathes, which was amazing. You bathe in hot spring baths and then use natural mud scrub. It made our skin feel amazing!! After we head to a local spot for lunch, which offered delicious local cuisine. Then we went to a waterfall. After we got back on the catamaran for some snorkeling. Some of the best snorkeling I’ve done! We ended the trip with rum punch and dancing on the catamaran! It was truly a blast and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes to have a good time!

Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients?

Nightlife is limited. That’s about it. I’m sure if we ventured more off the resort we could find more options, but we chose not to.

Any other comments?

We highly recommend clients splurging for the cottages. The romance was worth it for a honeymoon.

Your service was fantastic! It was easy planning especially while planning a wedding. I’d recommend Unforgettable Honeymoons anyone planning a honeymoon!!  . The private dinner included was also amazing! Also, the private transfers to and from the airport was organized and reputable. The car service was clean and the drivers were friendly. We can’t wait to plan our 1-year anniversary to Italy!
