Hammock Cove Antigua Honeymoon Review

We loved our Antigua honeymoon at Hammock Cove.  The resort was ideal for our honeymoon,  and it  is perfectly situated in a cove that’s very peaceful and feels secluded, with calm ocean water which we loved for swimming and snorkeling.

We did not know this before booking, but they had Pool and beach butlers who will bring you drinks while you’re floating out in the water,  it cannot get any better than this in our opinion.

When we arrived, we upgraded to the waterfront villa, and we know that our agent Renee at Unforgettable Honeymoons got that perk for us. We think that Unforgettable Honeymoons might be the very best travel agency to book Hammock cove with!!  They totally prepared us and made sure Hammock Cove knew we were honeymooners and their special clients.

Everyone who worked at Hammock Cove was amazing and friendly,  The food and dining was amazing, especially at the lighthouse restaurant, which was our favorite. They do a 7-course tasting menu on Wednesdays and it was one of the best meals of my life.

I wish we could get married every year so we have an excuse to keep going back on our honeymoon!!

How did the honeymoon turn out in general?  

We had amazing time, it was no doubt the best and most beautiful vacation I’ve been on!

What did you like best about the resorts you stayed at?

Hammock Cove was a perfect honeymoon resort. We LOVED the private suite with the infinity pool overlooking the water. And the service was impeccable. We took several walks to Devil’s Bridge which had beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The Royalton was also great, but very different. We really enjoyed the beach there and the variety of meal options.

What about the destination(s) in general?

Antigua was so beautiful, we loved being able to see the beach, mountains and ocean all in one view. The water everywhere was so noue and clear. It’s nice that it’s not all built up with huge hotels. The people were all very friendly and we felt very safe there. The weather was also perfect, just when the sun was feeling a little too hot some clouds would roll in.

The least?

It rained occasionally but only for a few mins and usually the sun stayed out.

Highlight of the honeymoon?

We took a boat tour at both resorts. (Probably the two most adventurous and exciting days) The Hammock Cove offered the Calypso Cat that provided drinks and lunch at a secluded beach, as well as some fun facts about the island. It almost felt like a private tour with just a few other couples from the resort. From the Royalton we booked the Wadadli Cat which was a much bigger catamaran with a lot more people. But also provided lunch, drinks, snorkeling and a stop at a secluded beach. It also sailed around the whole island which was cool to see.

Anything that you wish you knew beforehand that you could pass on to us for future clients?

I think you prepared us perfectly for our trip.

How did the honeymoon turn out in general? Incredible. We had a small hiccup with some flights getting there that forced us to miss one night, but once we got past that, it was a dream.

What did you like best about Hammock Cove in Antigua? 

At Hammock Cove resort,  he people and customer service were FANTASTIC. Each and every staff member at Hammock Cove was helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay top notch. They surprised us with a spread in our room for our honeymoon and even went out of their way to celebrate Hollister’s birthday with a special treat in our room.

What about Antigua as a honeymoon destination? 

We spent one day renting a car and exploring the island. In a day, we were able to cover the whole island and get a good taste for the vibe and culture of Antigua. It’s wide range of beautiful beaches and ease of navigating were big plus’s for us.

The least?

It is fairly impoverished which is sad to see, but we felt safe throughout the island. Everyone we ran into was friendly and helpful.

Highlight of the honeymoon to Hammock Cove?

The couple’s massage we got on Wednesday was a DREAM. I had never gotten a massage, but that was the quickest and most enjoyable 90 minutes of my life. Hollister has frequented far more spas than me, but even she claimed it was one of the best massages she had ever received.

Hammock Cove, Antigua Review

How did the honeymoon to Antigua turn out in general?
We will definitely be back. It turned out great. With the assistance of our travel agent Renee at Unforgettable Honeymoons,  we already knew which excursions and activities we wanted to do along with transportation plans from the airport. It was super nice exiting the airport and having a private transfer waiting for us as we walked out of the door.

Why we loved Hammock Cove Antigua for our honeymoon: 
Overall a 10/10 experience. Multiple friends of ours have stayed here and have all said it was worth the hype and we confirmed that during our stay. We plan to come back for our five year wedding anniversary.

Hammock Cove: Overall Feel, vibe and location
Like something out of a dream. The clear blue water with the beauty of the resort felt like heaven. We are from around Orange Beach, AL and it was the most beautiful beach and sea water we have ever seen. The overall vibe is very slow and relaxed. The location of the resort to and from the airport is about half an hour so it was super convenient when we checked out.

Friendliness of staff:
They were amazingly friendly and always responsive to our needs.

Quality of Food / dining:
It was absolutely 100% some of the best tasting food and drinks we have ever had in our life. My tip for anyone who eats there is do not be afraid to try new food or combinations of foods. Some might surprise you.
