From its hilltop perch above the Portofino Coast in the ancient fishing village of Rapallo, the Excelsior Palace Hotel commands sweeping views of the Bay of Rapallo to the east and the Gulf of Portofino to the west. The hotel attracted a high-society clientele when it opened as a casino in 1901, but shut down in the 1970s. Now totally renovated and restored, it greets guests in an expansive reception area with gleaming marble floors, white pillars, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing its famous views. The hotel has two restaurants, two bars, both indoor and outdoor pools, and a health and beauty spa housed in a 19th century villa.
Enjoy Mediterranean cuisine at Ristorante Lord Byron, one of the hotel’s 2 restaurants, or stay in and take advantage of the room service (during limited hours). Snacks are also available at the 2 coffee shops/cafes. Unwind at the end of the day with a drink at the bar/lounge or the poolside bar. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Known for its traditional Italian cuisine, this restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks the Gulf of Tigullio and Portofino coast.
Yachting Bar
The intimate Yachting Bar offers aperitifs and light fare, and is open until late.
Eden Roc Restaurant
Perched above the sea overlooking Portofino Bay, this seasonal restaurant near the outdoor pool features regional and Mediterranean dishes and an à la carte menu. Open from June to September.
Sporting Bar
Adjacent to the hotel’s swimming pool, the Sporting Bar serves lighter fare and drinks.

Beach Club
The Beach Club offers two outdoor infinity pools, with sweet water, one equipped with 6 whirlpool loungers. Located on the terraces, you find three Jacuzzi to pamper yourself. Lounge by the pool in the roomy cabanas.
