We chose Italy because neither of us had been there and we wanted to do something stimulating, new, and adventurous. Venice was magnificent, we arrived around 6:00pm when the sun was setting and the city was turning the lights on, very serene but filled with “Shock & Awe”. Florence was absolutely fantastic as well, we saw everything from David to the Uffizzi and climbed to the top of the Duomo. Rome was also very impressive, we are thrilled that we chose these 3 cities for our first time to Italy. I definitely researched different companies and price ranges, and you did a wonderful job explaining everything to our satisfaction.

Our Italy advisor was all of that and more! She was willing to work with everything we hoped to have on our honeymoon, she was attentive, quick to respond, and very helpful every step of the way!

How did Your Italy honeymoon turn out in general? 

 AMAZING! We were exciting to visit Italy during “low season” and must say the weather and accommodations were spectacular. Every hotel we stayed in greeted us wonderfully and were willing to accommodation our needs. The locations were perfect for exploring each city (Rome, Florence, and Venice), they all served breakfast, and had wonderful staff.

What did you like best about the resorts you stayed at?

Delicious breakfast in all of them! I am a huge fan of coffee, so we were very pleased that the selection was so varied in all 3 cities. The staff was also great at answering questions about each city and providing us with directions!

Did it meet your expectations? 

 YES, YES, and YES! Each city had its own sights to see, but we definitely tried exploring as much as we could! The planned tours in each were great,and at the same time we loved having time to ourselves to explore the rest. It was perfect timing, although I wish we could’ve stayed even longer, but working with you guys on our budget, timeline, and what we wanted to see was exactly what we hoped, and more!

how about the destination(s) in general- did you do some exploring,  how was the scenery? The people?

 Italy was very friendly, regardless of what language we were speaking! Everyone was willing to help, and for the most part we got around speaking English and Spanish. The sights speak for themselves, but a tour definitely makes for more organized exploring. While in Florence, we did our own short train trip to Pisa to see the leaning tower and then headed back. We were afraid we would need a tour but since it was low season it was relatively simple to buy a train ticket there and back in half a day. As for the rest, the planned train rides were great, efficient, and easy traveling.

First of all,  we want to thank you for planning the Italy trip of our dreams. It was well worth every penny.

First, we are so happy we added Venice to our trip and helped make that decision, because  I know when we first called, we were against Venice, but in the end, it became our favorite place. Venice was like a Hollywood movie set; everywhere you looked, the buildings were fascinating. We recognized a few buildings in Casino Royale, which we watched when we got home. the tour to the 3 islands was perfect. The Doge’s Palace and St Marks Basilica were worth seeing. Florence was wonderful and the rooftop pool was great to cool off as it was pretty hot in Florence more so than Venice. Rome was perfect to end on a high note as we loved the food and our tours to the Vatican and the Colosseum.

The honeymoon was fantastic, and thanks for all your help and guidance along the way.  The hotel in Florence upgraded us to a suite! That is awesome! It was a wonderful room and definitely Florence was one of the highlights of the trip. I would love to go back to all of it, but especially Firenze! 🙂 The Bauer in Venice was AMAZING! What a luxurious hotel! It was so great to be so close to San Marco and (truth be told) a very easy way to orient ourselves if we got turned around. That happened often 🙂

Italy Honeymoon Planning Review:  Sorrento and Rome

A big thank you for setting up our Italy honeymoon and for the amazing bottle of wine in Sorrento!

My wife did all the planning with you guys and was so pleased with how it turned out, and wanted to shoot an email to tell you about our trip so that you know how wonderful this was for us and that your agency is a part of it.

Everything was smooth, and the hotels knew we were on our honeymoon and treated us well and thanks to the bottle of wine as well from your staff.

The highlight was the Grand Vittoria Excelsior Hotel in Sorrento; the fact that we could be oceanfront and also walk from the hotel right into town in 5 minutes, was a huge plus. We took your advice on all the restaurants and were very pleased, esp. with Caruso restaurant right across the street from the hotel.

We did a day trip to Ravello, which was magical, and the ferry worked out perfectly; that drive looks like a nightmare. The ferries are smooth and set up well. If we go back, we want to stay in Capri it looked amazing, and we met another couple who raved about it.

Overall, our Italy Honeymoon was an A+ honeymoon

We were saying how this trip will be very tough to outdo, especially since we will forever remember this trip as when we got engaged 🙂 We went out to a nice dinner in Venice and I popped the question, hard to get any answer but ‘yes’ in such a beautiful city.

Rome was also amazing, we definitely needed those extra days, so much to see and so much history! Our legs are still recovering from all the walking… Sorrento was a stunningly perfect way to end such an amazing trip and start our engagement off nicely.

Rome was incredible in its own right, the colosseum was very crowded and next time we are going to go early morning as the afternoon was too busy. The tour to the Vatican was excellent. We also loved the hotel Telegraph Suites, very spacious suites and we had dinner on our balcony. Florence was our favorite of the cities. We loved just strolling around at night and finding nooks and crannies

It was truly a trip of a lifetime. We loved it! The honeymoon Exceeded our expectations

We would return to all destinations. Florence was beautiful. Hotel Lucchesi has the most amazing rooftop. The city has so much charm and history. The food and people were great. Rome was incredible and rich with history and places to explore. Very busy so I was glad after 3 days of go, go, go to move on to a more relaxing venue. Hotel Tramontano had a cool location and love the old Italian charm. The Sorrentine Coast was stunning but very crowded with tourist (Capri and Positano). I noticed the friendliness of the people diminished the further South we travelled in Italy.

Italian driving – it’s CRAZY and I am so thankful we had arranged transportation.
Be mindful of travel time between flights. We carried on from the US to Europe but weight limits vary by airline (typically less weight allotment in Europe).
