Drive to the small town of Mengwi, long associated with the Balinese Royal Family and home to the superb temple complex at Taman Ayun, considered by many to be one of the island’s most attractive temples. Next head to Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, populated with giant nutmeg trees and home to hundreds of macaque monkeys before heading south to the island’s most famous temple complex at Tanah Lot, which is an integral part of the Balinese mythology and one of seven sea temples that are said to form a ‘chain’ around the island. You will arrive in time for sunset when photographic opportunities abound.

Private Ancient Ubud and Rice Field Tour

Begin with a visit to Goa Gajah in Bedulu. Often referred to as the Elephant Cave, it was established in the 9th century as a sanctuary for Buddhist monks. Continue to Pejeng, a small settlement located in the Petauan River valley, famous for housing the Moon of Pejeng, the largest single-cast bronze kettle drum in the world. Visit the interesting Purbakala Archaeological Museum and also take in some smaller temples close to Pejeng including Pura Arjuna Metapa, See the amazing rice terrace near the village of Tegalalang and visit the towns colourful art market, known locally as Pasar Seni.

Cookery Class and Balinese Lunch

Awaken your senses on a trip to the local market, bursting with fragrant herbs and fiery spices. We’ll guide you towards the most delicious ingredients.  Then return to the hotel where our chefs will transform them into a mouth-watering lunch.

Temple Experience

Gather in our fragrant gardens at first light to visit our on-site temple. Experience the serenity found in typical Balinese prayer while clothed in traditional island dress. You will be presented with offerings to leave at the shrine

Jimbaran Fish Market Visit and Cooking Class

Head to the morning fish market for a flavor of rural Bali. Select your catch of the day, then return for a light breakfast. An immersive cooking class follows with our friendly chef, who will guide you through various regional recipes, before you feast on your efforts. Or, skip the cooking class and go straight to lunch.

Bali: East or West

Immerse yourself in the east’s striking volcanoes and dense jungle. Visit Tenganan village––famous for its batik prints––before bathing in Tirta Gangga’s healing waters. Or head west to discover rural life in the emerald rice paddies. Pura Bratan, a towering water temple on the shores of Lake Beratan, will take your breath away.
