The Vatican

The smallest state in the world (0.44 sq. Km) is the guardian of the greatest art treasures. Three extraordinary points of interest: St. Peter’s Square, surrounded by 284 columns and 88 pillars in a portico of four rows, the Basilica of San Pietro (the largest Catholic church in the world, capacity for up to 20 thousand people), and the Vatican Museums, where the Sistine Chapel is located, one of the main art treasures on the planet, the place where Popes are elected.

Villa Borghese

Italian gardens, English-style area, an array of small buildings, and little villas, fountains and ponds: Villa Borghese is a huge park (about 80 hectares) it is delightful for its treasures. The villas and small buildings the Borghese Gallery, where works of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Agnolo Bronzino, Antonio Canova, Caravaggio, Raphael, Perugino, Lorenzo Lotto, Antonello da Messina, Cranach, Annibale Carracci, Pieter Paul Rubens, Bellini, Tiziano are all exhibited . A unique museum of its kind and in the world.

Pantheon- Finished in 126 AD, an incredible building like no other during this time

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, now a Catholic church, in Rome, Italy, on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus. It was completed by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated about 126 AD.

Florence

Florence is a city whose charm and splendid past have remained unaltered. At least, this is how the enchanting Tuscan capital appears – it continues to enchant, by means of its artistic masterpieces, colored marbles and architectural works that evoke the pomp and circumstance that it bore as the leading city that developed the art and culture dictums of the Renaissance.

Duomo

Florence’s cathedral stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, with the baptistery right across. The cathedral named in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore is a vast Gothic structure built on the site of the 7th century church of Santa Reparata, the remains of which can be seen in the crypt.

Pisa

The Leaning Tower, the icon of Pisa, is the most famous Italian monument in the world. Of course the city of Pisa’s first and foremost point of pride is the Tower, inclined as it is due to a sinkage of terrain; yet it also boasts a singular design of magnificent architecture, bearing arcades and loggias, a spiral staircase of 294 steps, and a belfry at its heights (184 ft), from which you can stare agape at the spectacular view.

San Gimignano

The gorgeous hilltown of San Gimignano, a splendorous Medieval atmosphere enwrapped by its 13th-Century wall.
It is the Tuscany that tourists love most, set amidst fields of golden grain, vineyards and ancient borgoes; it is the Tuscany of Chianti and the Val D’Orcia, of beloved culinary traditions and singular tastes.

Venice

Venice is incredible, no other way to describe it and we recommend you do not shortchange yourself here.  We recommend at least 3 nights, which will give you two full days.

Napoleon loved Venice,  Vivaldi Lived in Venice and wrote the Four Seasons while in Venice.  This city has so much history and worth exploring.   The architectural jewel of St. Mark’s Square,  that has earned the title of Most Beautiful Room of Europe.  St Marks Basilica, Doges Palace, The Grand Canal,  The winged lions that keep watch,  St Marks Clock Tower,  La Salute Church, these are a small sampling of what Venice has to offer.

Amalfi Coast- the Jewel of Italy

the Amalfi Coast is the most desired honeymoon destination within Italy that most Couples ask about and want to visit.  You’ll be hooked once you start googling images of Positano, Capri, Ravello, Sorrento and Amalfi!   The hard part is figuring out where exactly to honeymoon on the Amalfi coast, and how long to stay.  Next, determining how to spend your days, which are limited since this is the highest end pricing for most of Italy.

You’ll spend more money on your hotel room in the Amalfi Coast than you would with Rome and Florence combined.   No matter where you stay on on the Amalfi Coast for your Italy Honeymoon, you’ll be able to move around and see the other locations by ferry or car. ( we do not recommend renting a car, take cabs instead)  the Ferry system in Italy is simple and easy,  you can ferry from Sorrento to Capri in about 20 minutes and it will only cost less than 25 euros.

Pompeii and Herculaneum- ancient ruins near Naples

The ruins of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum were buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in A.D. 79, but they still offer an incredible peek into the day to day life of the local residents.
Pompeii was a weekend resort for wealthy Romans.

It is now famous for its civic buildings lining the streets that are still intact today. Some of these include the Surgeon’s House, as well as those of the Faun and the Chaste Lovers, which are great examples of the architecture.

Isle of Capri-  one of the most beautiful islands in Europe

We feel Capri is a must see on your Italy Honeymoon,  it is one of the most famous spots in Italy and frequented by celebrities and sports figures, as well as the richest people in the world all summer long.  The Isle of Capri is easy to see from anywhere in Amalfi and easy to get to by ferry.  This Island Honeymoon and Romantic paradise is internationally-known for its spectacular setting, history, shopping, nightlife, and the Blue Grotto.

The Villa Carlotta

Villa Carlotta is an example of how architecture can perfectly blend with the beauty of nature and art. The whole site of Villa Carlotta is part of a vast project that has been developed since the end of the 17th century. Villa Carlotta is surrounded by a wide botanical garden that is full of ancient trees, palms, rhododendrons, azaleas, and many other plants. We suggest you to visit Villa Carlotta in springtime, during the blossom period. This is definitely the best time to soak up the scents these beautiful gardens can offer!

Villa del Balbianello

Villa del Balbianello will leave you breathless, due to its beautiful terraced gardens and picturesque structure. The main building of Villa Balbianello hosts some English and French furnishings, which date back to the 17th and 18th centuries.

Villa del Balbianello has been used as the setting for several movies, including A Month by the Lake, Casino Royale, and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. When you visit the villa, you should try your hand at identifying key areas featured in these movies!

The Village of Bellagio on Lake Como

The tiny streets of Bellagio are so pretty that a simple walk is worth the visit. The old town center of Bellagio has one main road, Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, which gets to Punta Spartivento (tip of the village) in less than 10 minutes. Via Giuseppe Garibaldi is populated by dozens of shops and boutiques where visitors can find local food, leather goods, clothing, perfumes, and much more.

To the left of the main street, several alleys lead to the lakefront, facing the Como branch of the lake. These alleys are also full of shops and restaurants… and stairs, too! So wear a pair of comfortable shoes and get ready to do a lot of ups and downs. In the town center, you can get to Piazza della Chiesa and admire the Basilica of San Giacomo, a Romanesque church built between the 11th and 12th centuries.
