Maui boasts over 30 miles of beautiful beaches. Mahana Ridge Trail
This 20-mile roundtrip hike is strenuous, but hikers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mokupe’a and Honokahua Gulches. The path travels through former coffee and pineapple fields.
Village Walking Trails
This collection of six trails ranges from moderate to difficult and follows the former cart path of the Village Golf Course and features panoramic views and a hidden lake.
Coastal Trail
This 1.76-mile coastal trail runs along the ocean from Kapalua Bay Beach to DT Fleming Beach, passing through the sand dunes of Oneloa Bay and The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
Whale Watch (December to May) – Maui
Embark on a one-of-a-kind whale watch with two of Maui’s most knowledgeable whale experts and top underwater photographers, Dan and John Cesere. Take above- or below-water photographs of marine life, or simply enjoy the show while learning about these majestic creatures. Tours do not include underwater photography of humpback whales, but focus on Maui’s other vibrant marine life.

Surfing – Kauai
Kauai is home to infamous waves and iconic surfing legends. Favorite surf spots on the island include Poipu Beach, Salt Pond, Allerton’s, Kukuiula Harbor, Davidson’s at Kekaha, Pakalas, Lawai Beach (also called P.K.’s Centers and Acid Drop), Shipwrecks Beach, Nawiliwili Harbor, Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach, and Cannons. Scuba Diving – Kauai
An abundance of sites to scuba dive are located at various beaches are good for both beginners and experienced divers. Boat dives, night dives, and other dive tours offer plenty of sea life to discover with cave explorations and lava tubes. Experienced divers can explore the east and west shores, while those new to scuba are recommended to start on the north or south shores (Hanalei, Kee Beach, or Poipu Beach).
Snorkeling – Kauai
Poipu Beach is one of the prime beaches for snorkeling on Kauai. Rent fins, a mask and snorkel from the on-site Hoku Water Sports hut. Enjoy a specially designed tour of the Napali coastline to see sea caves, waterfalls, and other pristine wilderness areas.
Hiking and Biking – Kauai Honeymoon activity
Hiking is a treasured way to tour the island’s pristine beaches and valleys with roughly 10 percent of the island accessible by road. Trails range from easy to challenging with notables trails including Kuilau, Moalepe, Kalalau, Waimea Canyon, Kokee, and Powerline.
Local biking trails range from easy to challenging with Waimea Canyon offering serious bikers the thrill of a lifetime. This canyon trail is a 100% downhill and makes for an exhilarating 13-mile ride. Bikers can also enjoy stops for scenic photos, chances to learn about local history and culture plus cruise many of the flat roads available. Bike rentals can be found at the on-site Hoku Watersports hut.
Helicopter Tours – Kauai
The beauty and essence of the island can only be recognized from a bird’s eye view. Helicopter tours allow visitors to view some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere on earth, including the Waimea Canyon, the Napali coast, and the waterfalls made famous in movies such as Jurassic Park and Fantasy Island. The highlight of the hour long flight is flying back into the “Blue Hole” in the heart of the Mt. Waiale’ale crater, where it seems that there are waterfalls in every direction.
Zip Lining – Kauai
Put on a harness and soar over Kauai’s breathtaking valleys and streams, embarking on a series of zip line crossings. Walking through the treetops and over waterfalls on a suspension bridge gives new meaning to the term “suspension.”
Kayak – Kauai
Kayaking can be a peaceful experience or exciting adventure here on the island. For gentler excursions, try the Wailua River to the famed Fern Grotto, or Huleia River from Nawiliwili Harbor to the Menehune Fishpond and beyond. The Hanalei River is the longest and allows kayaking through the plains. Ocean kayaking is a thrilling island activity, with options including the Poipu to Port Allen course with a stop in Lawai Bay or the Napali coast.
