How did the honeymoon turn out in general?
It was absolutely magical. We loved St Lucia. The resort was amazing, the food was excellent, and the service was top notch. The food was absolutely delicious every time.
What was it like traveling during COVID to ST Lucia, tell us about your experience:
There was very little that Covid impacted.
You are required to wear a mask at common areas (walking to the beach, walking to the dining area, walking to the spa) at the resort, but once you get to the beach, your table, etc you are not required to continue wearing a mask. It wasn’t an issue at all.
We were hoping to explore the island on our own, but obviously with the Covid situation we weren’t able to explore on our own which is no fault of Unforgettable Honeymoons or Calabash Cove.
What were a few of the main highlights of your honeymoon?
#1- We got a couples’ Chocolate massage that was provided on the premises at the spa, less than 50 yards from our room.
#2- Kevin (the concierge) set up a hike of the Pitons for us. He called a cab and organized the entire thing. This is a must do, but please know it isn’t easy. We are a relatively fit and athletic couple but it was challenging for us at times. It took a total of 4.5 hours.
What did you like best about the resort(s) you stayed at and advice you can give to other couples considering Calabash Cove in St Lucia ?
We were originally concerned that we would become bored having to stay at the resort the entire time (outside of resort organized events – Piton Hike). However, there were a number of things to do onsite: paddle board, swimming at the beach, massages, full service spa, amazing food and bar, and more.
Make sure to get the all inclusive package.
It is worth it in the long run. I would recommend starting it the day after you arrive until the day you leave. You are not forced to get it the day you arrive.
Our # advice to other couples: Upgrade to the water’s edge cottage.
Do Not skimp on this
You will wish the entire time that you did once you see them in person.
The pictures online do not do them justice. You have your own private pool, private covered deck, a living room with a smart tv (and great wifi), outdoor shower, jacuzzi tub, and air conditioned bedroom. I’m telling you, make sure to get the water’s edge cottage.
Did your honeymoon to St Lucia during COVID meet your expectations?
It exceeded our expectations by far. We had really high hopes for our honeymoon and it was even better than we could have possibly imagined.
Was our service what you expected?
Better than expected. Renee and her staff were on top of everything and made our experience absolutely top notch. She organized our rides to and from the airport which made everything easy.
Could we have done anything more to make your trip better?
Nothing at all. I will be using Unforgettable Honeymoons for our anniversary trips in the future for sure. I can’t imagine using anyone else. The experience was great and we were informed at every step.
