| The Dining Experience at Four Seasons Tented Camp Dining at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle is an integral part of the Camp's activities. It promises to be an experience you will remember long after your adventure with us. As a small, close-knit community, guests share their dining experiences in locations that may vary from day to day. Breakfast is served at Nong Yao, our main restaurant. Lunch may be a picnic in the jungle. Afternoon tea is served before embarking on late-afternoon activities. Then, it is time for the sundowner: 30 minutes of snacks and refreshments while you watch the sky turn golden. Dinner is an event at the Camp, too. Mahout training, elephant trekking Upon arrival at the Camp, guests will receive traditional mahout outfits. Training starts with learning to bathe and feed an elephant. Together with the elephant's own mahout, guests learn the basic commands needed to drive an elephant, which they will have an opportunity to practise on an exploration of the Thai jungle. Sundowners will be served when the sun begins to set over the horizon, after which the elephants will be released into the jungle for night feeding. Mekong River excursions In a custom-designed riverboat, guests cruise the Mekong River, passing along villages and temples with an optional stop at a Laotian border town. Snacks and refreshments will be served. Jungle trekking and nature walks The jungle in the immediate vacinity of the Camp is a haven of exotic tropical fauna and flora. Nature treks can be self-guided, or accompanied by a local expert. Bird watching This is a year round activity peaking at bi-annual migration seasons. A qualified ornithologist will be at the Camp to lead discussions and share insights on the subject. Bird books and binoculars are available in all tents and at Burma Bar and Nong Yao Restaurant for guests interested in an impromtu bird watching session. Fishing Explore the aquatic abundance of the Mekong or simply let the humbling anticipation of a catch calm the spirits, fishing is a favourite past time for locals as well as visitors. Fishing poles are available at the main Camp Pier for guest use. Roam the markets in Mae Sai 25 minutes drive from West Post is Burma, where hilltribe produce, arts and crafts are sold at border markets, duty free. Discover the uniqueness of their cultures which have made them one of the oldest and most distinctive civilisations today. Cooking lessons Learn the mysteries of traditional Thai, Laotian and Burmese cooking from the Camp's team of master chefs. Use local fresh ingredients combined with distinctive regional flavours to create dishes with unique northern Thai appeal. Natural and cultural history lecture series These half-hour sessions will be part of the evening cocktail hour prior to dinner, hosted by the Camp Manager and local experts. Traditional craft classes Local craftsmen will introduce guests to basket weaving, cloth weaving and pottery.
